Due 9/7/08

Three ways I can use a blog in my classroom:

1.) Daily journal entries; 5 points each; response to a quote or idea I may post. For extra credit, students may respond to their classmates' posts.

2.) Ideas for celebrating Spanish holidays: I can post a holiday that we will celebrate in class and students can respond to how they want to celebrate and sign up to bring in food, drinks, music, etc.

3.) Post an article that students should read, and respond to, to be ready for class the next day.

Julie,

You have some good ideas for using blogs. The more interactive the activities on the blogs are, the more motivating they can be for students.

Since you teach in an alternative setting, it might be a good idea to work together as a class to set up some guidelines for responding to each other's posts. By developing the guidelines together, the guidelines would be clear and the students would feel some sense of ownership.

I hope that you try out some of your ideas to see what works well and what doesn't.

Your ideas of using this blog into your teaching is so detail, because you are really plan to teach with this blog. I like this:what you think is really has connection with what you do. I would love to keep my first blog here into future usage and reference. I will keep close attention on your blog to see how this works. Good luck to you. Wish you have great time here with your students and your classmates in UB.
